SUMMARY:Embody: 2026 Senior Art and Design Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Embody\, an exhibition exploring what it means to inhabit a body in space. The works presented here examine the tension between the physical and the spiritual\, beauty and rawness\, memory and invention. Featuring eight seniors of the 2026 Mercer University Class of Art and Design\, this exhibition approaches the body as both subject and vessel — personal\, political\, imagined and real. Each artist engages embodiment through their own lens\, inviting viewers to consider their own presence within the gallery and beyond it. Embody asks you to slow down and become aware: of sensation\, of emotion\, of memory. It creates room for wonder\, discomfort\, reflection and connection. The body is not presented as fixed or singular\, but as something fluid—shaped by history\, environment\, and lived experience. Working across ceramics\, photography\, illustration\, fashion\, performance\, and expanded media\, the artists build a layered environment that reflects the complexity of being human. What you encounter here is not just an image of the body\, but an experience of it. Opening reception Friday\, April 10 at 6 p.m.
