DESCRIPTION:Join us as we follow the paths of two Mercer Pharmacy alumni as they reflect on their pharmacy careers. This candid discussion will feature successes\, challenges\, lessons learned\, and a Q&A session. \nGuest Speakers:\nMarvin R. Smith\, PharmD ’00\nDirector of Pharmacy Services and Deputy Director of Supplies Management Agency\, Public Hospitals Authority of the Bahamas \nDr. Smith has served as Chief Pharmacist for all three public hospitals in The Bahamas and held national leadership roles\, including Director of the Bahamas National Drug Agency. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Supply-chain Management Agency and Executive Director of the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists. \nAn international leader\, Dr. Smith has delivered 200+ lectures across 40+ countries\, authored 35+ publications\, and helped draft key legislation\, including the Pharmacy Act of The Bahamas. \nLaura McElroy\, PharmD\nFormer Administrative Director of Pharmacy\, Maury Regional Medical Center\nPharmacy Manager\, Maury Regional Medical Center System \nDr. McElroy is a board-certified pharmacist with nearly 30 years of experience across hospital\, psychiatric\, home infusion\, long-term care\, and industry settings. She served in multiple leadership roles at Maury Regional Medical Center\, including Administrative Director of Pharmacy\, where she advanced medication safety\, formulary management\, and regulatory compliance. She led key initiatives\, including USP 797 adherence\, diversion-prevention systems\, and operational improvements.
