SUMMARY:Spring 2020 Educator Career Fair
DESCRIPTION:The Mercer Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) will host the annual Educator Career Fair on Thursday\, February 6\, 2020\, at the Mercer University Atlanta Campus from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. At the employer’s discretion\, some students may be invited to an individual on-campus interview from 1:30-4:30 p.m. \nThis event is a large career fair that registers 30-40 public school systems who are looking to recruit educators. The main job being recruited for is certified teachers. The target attendees are Tift College of Education students who complete their teacher preparation program of study December 2019\, May 2020\, or August 2020 and who will be ready to teach full-time for AY20-21. Mercer alumni are invited as well. \nIn addition to Tift College of Education teacher preparation candidates\, the recruiters are open to discussing school counseling and various other certified-level job opportunities. \nSenior Liberal Arts majors who are seeking information about educator career paths are also welcome to attend. Recruiters are especially interested in speaking to students from the following disciplines: Foreign Languages\, Mathematics\, Sciences. Employers will be prepared to discuss how they can hire candidates from non-teacher-education disciplines and support them through the GAPSC alternate paths to teacher certification.
