DESCRIPTION:Mercer nurse practitioner students and alumni are invited to a program at 9 a.m. Sept. 6 with Dr. April Kapu\, new president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. AANP supports nurse practitioners in practice\, education\, research\, advocacy and leadership and represents more than 350\,000 nurse practitioners across the country. \nDr. Kapu has 30 years of experience in health care and 18 years as an acute care nurse practitioner and was recently recognized as one of the 50 most influential clinical executives. During the Sept. 6 program\, she will to talk with attendees about launching a successful career as a nurse practitioner and the resources and support that AANP can offer during their journey.
