SUMMARY:A View From the Inside — Case Study With Dr. Brett Matherne
DESCRIPTION:A View From the Inside \nJoin Dr. Brett Matherne as he teaches a case study to you as a “Business Bear.” This session will be limited in number to make sure faculty are able to offer a creative learning experience. If you register for this session\, a case study will be emailed to you several days before the session. Participants are to share their audio and video in this session and are expected to review the case study before the session starts for active participation. This session is a sampling of an actual full class. It will be a 90 minutes of class and questions. Unfortunately\, this session is not available to international applicants. \nWho is your Professor? \nDr. Matherne is both an associate dean and associate professor of management at Mercer University’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business. His primary focus is teaching strategic management\, and his research interests revolve around this field. Dr. Matherne has been published in various prestigious journals\, including Journal of Business Venturing\, European Management Journal\, Journal of Management Education\, Academy of Management Executive\, Academy of Management Perspectives\, Journal of International Entrepreneurship\, and The CASE Journal. He contributed a chapter titled “Servant Leadership to Sage’s Business Foundations\,” Ed. Sabine Hoidn\, an online\, interactive resource. He also published movie exhibition industry case studies in 13 editions of five of the top-selling strategic management textbooks. He recently co-authored an Open Education Resource textbook\, Strategic Management. His research mainly focuses on strategic management\, entrepreneurship\, and pedagogical approaches.

DESCRIPTION:The Brass Band and Wind Ensemble take the stage to perform major works in the repertoire. The Brass Band\, the newest ensemble in the band area\, will open the evening. The Wind Ensemble will perform James Barnes’ Third Symphony\, nicknamed “The Tragic\,” which explores the depths of despair then explodes with optimism and joy.
