SUMMARY:Summer Internship Housing Application Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Mercer University Summer Internship Housing Application \nSubsidized summer housing is available for Mercer University students participating in career field experiences (internship\, practicum\, clinical\, etc.) in the Atlanta or Macon area over the summer of 2025. Students must be in “good standing” with the university to be considered (no outstanding Bursar holds\, disciplinary probation\, etc.) and enrolled at Mercer University in the summer and/or fall of 2025. \nRequirements and Eligibility \nMust be enrolled at Mercer University in the summer and or fall of 2025.\nMust be in “good standing” to be considered (no outstanding Bursar holds\, disciplinary probation\, etc.).\nThe career field experience must be in-person or hybrid and not fully remote.\nThe career field experience can be paid or unpaid\, for credit or not for credit.\nThe career field experience must demonstrate significant professional or educational experience for the participant.\nAll participants must provide proof of career field experience from the sponsoring company\, such as a letter of verification from a supervisor\nStudents must reside 50+ miles from their internship site. \nExamples of Eligibility \nYou are a student in Macon\, your home is in Augusta\, and your career field experience is in midtown Atlanta.\nYou are an Atlanta student\, and your home is in Kennesaw\, but your career field experience is in Macon.\nYou are a distance learning student from Valdosta\, and your career field experience is in Atlanta. \nExamples of Ineligibility \nYou live in on-campus Atlanta housing\, and your career field experience is in Decatur.\nYou are an Atlanta student\, and your home is in Warner Robbins\, and your career field experience is in Macon.\nYou are a student in Macon\, your home is in Alpharetta and your career field experience is in downtown Atlanta. \nAll participants must comply with the Housing policies\nFull payment must be received prior to move-in \nMove-In Dates and Rates \nSubsidized summer housing is available from May 26 to August 3. Summer housing for accepted career field experience costs $300 for summer session one and $300 for summer session two. This cost does not change if the intern stays for 1 day or the entire session. \nSelection Process \nSpace is limited on both the Atlanta and Macon campuses. Completed applications (which include verification letter upload) will be time stamped. Housing will be given on a first-come\, first-served basis for those who have completed applications. Applications will go on a waitlist once all the housing slots are filled. \nNote: Students who are not selected for this opportunity may explore summer housing opportunities by contacting the Department of Housing and Residence Life.

Holden Thorp\, the editor-in-chief of the Science family of journals for the American Academy for the Advancement of Science\, will present three lectures on the theme “Sticking to Our Values in a Chaotic Age: How to Rebuild the Partnership Between America and Higher Education.” Lecture Schedule: “How We Got Here: Attacks\, Detachment\, and Self-Inflicted Wounds” Monday\, March 31\, at 10:10 a.m. “Interregnum: Why Intercollegiate Athletics is Not a Hill to Die On” Tuesday\, April 1\, at 11:15 a.m. “Rebuilding the Partnership: Research Integrity as a Test Case for a New Model” Tuesday\, April 1\, at 6:00 p.m. The lectures are free and open to the public.
