DESCRIPTION:Brave Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center is an equestrian center and a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization operated by Shannon Patrick. Their mission is to serve all people with person-limiting physical or mental conditions in a non-discriminatory manner without regard for their ability to pay. They utilize therapeutic riding to offer social\, educational\, and recreational opportunities through horseback riding sessions tailored to individuals with disabilities. \nIf you want to learn more\, visit their site at https://www.bravemeadows.net/ \nVolunteers will be asked to help clean chicken coops\, groom horses\, clean horse stalls\, paint and install fences\, chop wood (if willing) & supervise therapeutic horse lessons. \nVolunteers will be asked to wear closed-toe shoes and old clothing\, bring water\, and consider bringing sunscreen/bug spray/hat if desired\, and a snack if desired. \nVolunteers will be meeting in the CSC lobby at 10:00 am\, where they will meet their site leaders and receive directions\, as well as any needed equipment. Please ensure you are appropriately dressed and arrive on time\, as we will be leaving promptly after. \n**The site is approximately 30 minutes away\, so please arrive at the CSC lobby on time.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to expand your knowledge and network with fellow professionals and students working\, or interested in working\, in the sports ecosystem. \nSpeakers: \nDr. Nyaka NiiLampti is a licensed psychologist and currently the Vice President of Wellness and Clinical Services for the National Football League. In her role\, she is responsible for implementing and expanding the Total Wellness platform\, ensuring a holistic approach to the care of players and members of the NFL family. \nDr. Kensa Gunter is a licensed psychologist and certified mental performance coach. She currently serves as Director of Mind Health for the National Basketball Association and Women’s National Basketball Association. NBA Mind Health supports the mental well-being of the NBA\, WNBA\, G League\, Basketball Africa League\, and 2K League player\, coach and referee communities. \nModerator: \nDr. Caroline Brackette is a licensed professional counselor and Professor of Counseling at Mercer University. She has experience as a professional football team clinician and provided mental health counseling to professional and elite athletes. She founded the Scholarship of Sport Initiatives Speaker Series to create opportunities to inspire collaboration among scholars and professionals interested in sport.
