A member of the Vocal Arts faculty at the Julliard School in New York City, and a pre-eminent Baroque scholar and conductor, Gary Thor Wedow will lead a four-day workshop for Mercer University Townsend School of Music voice students in the art of Baroque Performance Practice. Anthony is a new opera with tremendous impact on many levels.  The famous suffragette was arrested in 1872 for attempting to vote, and the text of this opera was taken directly from her trial. The Mercer University composition studio will present several new and exciting works to the public. Enjoy a variety of sonic adventures for vocal, instrumental, and electronic media. Admission is free. This performance will take place in Neva Langley Fickling Hall in the McCorkle Music Building on Mercer's Macon Campus.
