Retirement & Recognition Ceremony – Macon Campus

Students accepted to the Doctor of Medicine program are invited, along with their families, to their respective campus to learn more about the campus and meet fellow classmates.

The meeting will be streamed to the Savannah Campus. Staff members from RAC Centers may also attend.

Pastor, professor, author and advocate Jonathan C. Augustine will deliver the 2022 Shurden Lectures. Jill Neimark, science journalist, will speak on "Activism Can Work: When a Big Polluter Came Courting Macon, Here's How We Fought Back." Dr. Jennifer Barkin, professor of community medicine and OBGYN at the Mercer University School of Medicine, will speak on "Effects of Extreme Weather Events on Perinatal Mental Health." Brooke Lappe, Ph.D. student in the environmental health sciences program at Emory University, will speak on "Climate Change Impacts on Pollen and Respiratory Health."
