A film series that explores a variety of contemporary and historical topics across Africa, including colonial history, politics, peoples, cultures, cuisine, economic, and geographic diversity, gender, Africa’s engagement with globalization, and much more. The purpose of this film series is to expose the Mercer Community to facts and features about Africa. This engagement will foster greater awareness and understanding of the continent in general. Students will build geographic awareness and critical consciousness relating to Africa as well as oral communication skills in discussing and conversing about the continent. The goal is to help prepare Mercer students for work and life in an increasingly globalizing world.
