“Alexa, How Do We Balance Our Right to Privacy While Using Smart Devices?” Fourth Amendment Privacy in the Age of the Internet of Things

The Department of Sociology welcomes C. Shanelle Booker, J.D., Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, who will give a lecture on the Fourth Amendment. In particular, she will discuss how we, as members of modern society, balance the privacy protections of the Fourth Amendment with our voluntary use of smart devices and the transmission of this data through the internet, an essentially non-private place.
