Careers in Publishing

On Tuesday, October 13th, at 5:30pm in Willingham 103, Mercer alum Ivy Clarke will give a talk about finding careers in the publishing industry. This will be an incredibly useful event for anyone who plans to apply for jobs soon.

Ivy Clarke is a poet and artist based in Durham, NC, who earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in English literature and creative writing, with a poetry concentration, from Mercer University in 2022. By day, she works in the marketing and metadata sector of academic publishing and distribution. Also by day, they copy edit Sinister Wisdom, organize poetry reading groups and writing workshops, and attend and participate in live readings as often as they can. Deeply interested in the physicality of writing production, Ivy is self-taught in bookbinding and papermaking. Ivy also believes in poetry beyond writing and so considers gardening, dancing, cooking, and crocheting parts of her creative process.
