FROM SAMOA TO SINATRA is Grammy award winner, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Matt Catingub’s tribute to his mother, jazz singer Mavis Rivers, and her years on Frank Sinatra’s Reprise record label, currently being heard on SiriusXM radio. Matt will be performing music specially written for the completion of this recording here in Macon, featuring Kevin Axt, bass; Steve Moretti, drums; violinist Amy Schwartz Moretti, violin; and the McDuffie Center Strings Ensemble.
The Fabian Concert Series continues bringing great chamber music, collaboration, education, and outreach to Mercer and Macon. Over the course of this year, we are exploring the diversity and expressiveness of music with some of the world’s greatest musicians, channeling healing and thoughtfulness during this unprecedented time. Our 13th Anniversary Season continues with concerts at the Grand Opera House in downtown Macon where we have addressed all concerns for health and safety. Tickets are $15 per person/free with Mercer or any valid student ID. Single tickets will be available prior to each performance. Call (478)301-5470 to find out more.
