Orpheus, the most gifted of all musicians, could charm plants and animals with his playing and even moved the god of the Underworld to pity. Experience the brilliant variety of music inspired by this Greek myth in scenes from Baroque opera, from Gluck’s beloved masterpiece, Orpheus and Euridice, and from the divine silliness of Jacques Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld.
