The April 1 COP Research Seminar Series speaker will be Dr. Christopher R. McCurdy, Ph.D., F.A.A.P.S, who serves as Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Frank A. Duckworth Eminent Scholar Chair and Associate Dean for Faculty Development at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Dr. McCurdy, who also serves as Director of The UF Translational Drug Development Core, is a global leader in the study of Kratom, a natural product derived from the plant Mitragyna speciosa, which is being investigated for treatment of CNS disorders and has also made headlines as a drug of abuse.
His seminar, entitled “Kratom: Balancing Therapeutic Potential with Risk” will be delivered via the Zoom link below from 3-4 pm on 4/1, and all faculty, students, staff, and alumni are cordially invited to attend. As a reminder, out of respect for the speaker, please keep your video streams on so that the speaker is not engaging with empty zoom black boxes.
