Poet, novelist, and short story writer Tiphanie Yanique, Mercer’s 2024 Ferrol A. Sams Distinguished Writer in Residence, will read from her poetry as part of the Third Thursday Reading Series hosted by the Writers’ Hub. Prof. Yanique’s poetry collection Wife won the Bocas Prize in Caribbean poetry and the United Kingdom’s Forward/Felix Dennis Prize for a First Collection. Her novels and short story collections include Monster in the Middle, Land of Love and Drowning, and How to Escape from a Leper Colony. She is also author of the picture book I Am the Virgin Islands.
