The ARC provides free, drop-in tutoring to students on the Macon Campus; no appointments are necessary. Peer tutors offer assistance with writing, mathematics, the sciences, foreign languages, and a variety of other academic disciplines. Africa Film Series

Half of a Yellow Sun is a 2013 Nigerian drama film directed by Biyi Bandele and based on the novel of the same name by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The film is historical fiction that begins during the first Nigerian Independence Day on Oct. 1, 1960 and concludes at the end of the Nigerian Civil War in 1970. This story is told through a captivating love story that delivers an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Jeffrey L. Williamson Reading Series: Christopher Bakken

The Mercer University English Department is pleased to announce the Jeffrey L. Williamson Reading Series, which will be launched on Thursday, January 29th when poet and food writer Christopher Bakken will read at 6 p.m. in Connell 3. Bakken is the author of four books of poetry, most recently "Driving the Beast," and the culinary memoir "Honey, Olives, Octopus: Adventures at the Greek Table."
