A thoughtful MMSO concert highlights the diversity of American experiences: “From the New World,” created when Czech-born Dvořák was working in the U.S., and one of the most popular orchestral pieces from an American composer, Bernstein’s Candide overture. Macon native Caleb Esmond graduated from Mercer University in 2021 with a BM in Piano Performance from the studio of Dr. Ian Altman. He is currently pursuing his MM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Utah State University with Dr. Cahill Smith. While at USU, Caleb received the 2022 Graduate Talent Award and has performed in masterclasses for Gabriela Montero and Steven Osborne. This alumni recital in Fickling Hall will feature works by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Ravel.
