Watch the stars of tomorrow for free today with free concerts and community programs by the McDuffie Center Young Artists at the historic Bell House. Concerts with our emerging artists are engaging, short programs that are a great introduction to classical music for any patron. By keeping these shows free and open to the public, the Center is on the threshold between curriculum and community.

Richard Kosowski, tenor Adrian Gnam, oboe Timothy McReynolds, collaborative piano Themes of devotion, sacrifice, supplication, and hope are explored in Music of Passion for the Season of Lent. Programming will include Benjamin Britten’s rapturously mystical Canticle 1: My beloved is mine and the haunting, angst-ridden Canticle 2: Abraham and Isaac.

Stayin’ Alive: One Night of the Bee Gees Grand Opera House, 7:30 p.m. STAYIN’ ALIVE is the largest and most definitive production of its kind, offering big screen video clips, photos and dazzling imagery. Under the direction of Dr. Monty Cole, hear the music of legendary pianist Thelonious Monk and his sidemen performed by the Mercer Jazz Combo. This event is free and open to the public.

The McIntosh High School Band and the Mercer University Wind Ensemble (MUWE) collaborate to present this side-by-side concert. Members of the MUWE will lead masterclasses and get to know the talented high school musicians through rehearsal and performance. This event is free and open to the public
