Women's Empowerment Conference hosted by NCNW and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives on March 24, 2024, from 3-5 p.m. The event will be held in Willet Auditorium featuring Keynote Speaker Judge Che Young and a host of community-wide panelists for an afternoon of networking and mentorship.

Join the Center for Engaged Learning, Office of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives, and the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing on Wednesday, March 27 for an interactive discussion that explores the intersection of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our service and civic engagement partnerships. Do you know your history? The My Name Matters Campaign asks all Mercerians this question through their project, Hidden Threads: Intellect, Diversity & Religious Freedom. The research study has been designed to explore and analyze the historical timeline and debate between Mercer University and the Georgia Baptist Convention severance. The final Third Thursday Reading Series event of the season will feature a tribute to Mercer Alumnus David Bottoms (Class of 1971), who served as the Poet Laureate of Georgia from 2002 to 2012. The evening will begin with a reading by the winners of the David Bottoms Prize for Poetry, which will be awarded to the Mercer University undergraduate students whose poems best exemplify Bottoms’ belief that poetry is “a search for consequence.”

Celebrate the end of the semester with inflatables, carnival games, a petting zoo (10 am-1 pm), a beer garden (12-2 pm), and more! Students, faculty, staff, and families are welcome. Graduates, come pick up your free alumni t-shirt!
