The Mercer University Writers’ Hub is excited to announce the Third Thursday Reading Series, designed to showcase the literary arts at Mercer. The series will host a variety of events, from student and faculty readings to talks by visiting writers, on the third Thursday of each full month of the academic year (September, October, November, February, March, and April). October's visiting writer features Gwen E. Kirby.

The inaugural Macon Music Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, and part of the race course will take runners through the Macon campus. The race begins at Carolyn Crayton Park at 8 a.m. and should be completed by 11:30 a.m. During the race, certain roads and intersections will be closed, including Mercer University Drive/Little Richard Penniman Drive, Stadium Drive, Winship Street, Johnson Avenue, Montpelier Avenue and Adams Street.
