Pilgrimage to Penfield in an integral part of the Mercer freshman experience. Penfield, which is located in rural Greene County, was the home of Mercer from 1833-1871. United Way's Read United is looking for volunteers to read to elementary school students during Read for the Record. This year student volunteers will be reading "Nigel and the Moon." There are two time slots at each school: 10am-11am and 11am-12pm. Volunteers can pick from a variety of school around Macon!
