The Department of Sociology welcomes C. Shanelle Booker, J.D., Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, who will give a lecture on the Fourth Amendment. In particular, she will discuss how we, as members of modern society, balance the privacy protections of the Fourth Amendment with our voluntary use of smart devices and the transmission of this data through the internet, an essentially non-private place.

Rita Sloan is acknowledged internationally as a leading teacher of piano, collaborative piano and chamber music. In 1999, she was appointed a piano faculty member and director of the collaborative piano program at the University of Maryland. As an artist faculty member at the Aspen Music Festival, Sloan founded their Collaborative Piano Program. Ms. Sloan joins violinist Amy Schwartz Moretti, Elizabeth Pridgen, and McDuffie Center young artists for an evening of unforgettable solo and chamber music.
