Since the early 1900's, Mercer undergraduates have been making the 90-mile trip from Macon to Penfield to celebrate the founding of Mercer University. Pilgrimage to Penfield is an integral part of the Mercer freshman experience. Penfield, which is located in rural Greene County, was the home of Mercer from 1833-1871. Join the Tarver Library for the opening of the latest iteration of the Holmes Holy Land Ancient Artifact Collection. Our focus will be on the history of writing, and the evening will feature guest speakers, the unveiling of the new exhibit, and a reception. Meet donor Lynn Holmes, and hear about the development of his impressive collection of antiquities from the Holy Land. Also hear from faculty and students who have used the collection in their course work.

Recitals are held in the Bell House Jennings Salon at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open 30 minutes beforehand.
