Watch the stars of tomorrow for free today with free concerts and community programs by the McDuffie Center Young Artists at the historic Bell House. Concerts with our emerging artists are engaging, short programs that are a great introduction to classical music for any patron. By keeping these shows free and open to the public, the Center is on the threshold between curriculum and community.

Conducted by Mr. Kelly Via, the nationally acclaimed Mercer Flute Choir performs a program of exciting new compositions, along with many new holiday favorites.

Conducted by Townsend School of Music Associate Dean and Arthur Lowndes Rich Professor of Choral Conducting Dr. Stanley Roberts and featuring Mercer University Organist/Director of the Townsend-McAfee Institute of Church Music Dr. Jack Mitchener, Mercer Singers, Mercer Women's Chamber Choir, and Mercer Brass Choir.

The 2024 Young Artists Chamber Music Marathon Gala program features "Influences and Inspiration," with works from Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart, Shaw, and current McDuffie students River Sawchyn (violin), Moa Glimberg (double bass), and Elizabeth Aoki (violin),

Mercer alumnus Mr. Alvin R. Blount, newly-appointed Reference and Instruction Librarian at Georgia State University, will perform works by Florence Price, C. M. Widor, Marianne Kim, and Calvin Taylor.

The students of Mercer University Opera present a delightful collection of one-act operas including La Divina and The Beautiful Bridegroom. Directed by Martha Malone with Music Direction by Richard Kosowski. All operas are sung in English and accompanied by an orchestra.

The Townsend School of Music is pleased to host Dr. Alexander Wasserman as part of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) guest artist series. Dr. Wasserman, a Shigeru Kawai Artist, enjoys a distinguished career on both the concert stage and in the teaching studio. Please join us for an exciting performance by this accomplished concerto soloist and chamber musician. The concert is free and open to the public.

Dr. Peter Rubardt, Music Director of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, and Dr. Hedi Salanki-Rubardt, Distinguished University Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at the University of West Florida, will discuss the importance of networking, relationship building, and community outreach in the music profession.
