The Phi Beta Kappa Society’s Zeta Chapter of Georgia will welcome Dr. Lynn Pasquerella to give the third annual Malcolm Lester Phi Beta Kappa Lectures on Liberal Arts and Public Life March 26-27 on the Macon campus.
Dr. Pasquerella, president of the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) and president of Phi Beta Kappa Society, will present three lectures on the theme “What We Value” in the Presidents Dining Room in the University Center on Mercer’s Macon campus.
Dr. Pasquerella’s opening lecture, “Moral Distress and the Concept of Death as Un-American,” will take place March 26 at 11 a.m., followed by “On Snowflakes, Chilly Climates, and Shouting to be Heard: Weathering Campus Storms” at 6 p.m. The series will conclude with “Educating for Democracy in a Post-Truth Era” March 27 at 11 a.m.
The lecture series is free and open to the public and will be held during the University’s annual Breakthroughs in Engagement, Arts and Research (BEAR) Day, an annual celebration of undergraduate and graduate student research and special projects.
