Discover the dyslexia diagnostic process with Dr. Michael Johns, a Macon native and licensed psychologist who has been in practice since 2001 and has worked with children in mental health settings since 1990. Dr. Johns was primarily trained to perform psychological and neuropsychological evaluations and therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults.
He has worked in children’s hospitals, mental health clinics, mental hospitals, and private practice, and he is presently working as a pediatric psychologist in the Pediatric Developmental Clinic at Atrium Health Navicent. His specialties in terms of assessment include developmental conditions and learning challenges.
The primary goal of the Discovering Dyslexia Community Education Series is to educate Middle Georgia families about dyslexia while also providing a supportive platform for caregivers to ask questions and get answers. Each session will feature an expert guest who will be available to address inquiries on topics such as: the diagnostic process, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, the Orton-Gillingham Approach, mental health, and more.
