
Habitat for Humanity Volunteering
We will be volunteering at Habitat for Humanity's Restore, a store that sells donations to fund Habitat Homes in Macon. Volunteers will be cleaning, organizing the store, loading and unloading donations, and clearing out the store.

We hope to educate students about the health issue of 'lack of sleep' on campus. In order to do this, we will be passing out educational flyers on the health outcomes of poor sleep, make them do a short quiz by asking questions out loud, and if they get a certain amount of answers right, we will be passing out candy.

Established by Mr. Bert Bevins, former county commissioner, the garden is named in honor of his grandmother, who had a deep love for gardening. Volunteers can expect to plant seeds and flowers for the butterflies. Meet in the CSC by 2:30 pm to check-in and receive the address. The final Third Thursday Reading Series event of the season will feature a tribute to Mercer Alumnus David Bottoms (Class of 1971), who served as the Poet Laureate of Georgia from 2002 to 2012. The evening will begin with a reading by the winners of the David Bottoms Prize for Poetry, which will be awarded to the Mercer University undergraduate students whose poems best exemplify Bottoms’ belief that poetry is “a search for consequence.”
