The Mercer University Wind Ensemble joins forces with Perry High School to present a celebratory fall concert to kick off the season.

Dr. Gregory Hamilton will perform a wide variety of his compositions for the organ, lute, harpsichord, and theorbo.

McDuffie Young Artist Solo and Chamber Ensemble Concerts are free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Seats open 30 minutes beforehand.

Featuring jazz adventurer and alumnus Banks Daniels, this is an evening of modern jazz, including "West Point" by Michael Conrad and "African Skies" by Michael Brecker.

Guest composer and conductor Dr. Jack Stamp will conduct two pieces on the program including his famous "Gavorkna Fanfare" to open the evening. Cailey Martinez will be featured in Dr. Stamp's "Elegy for English Horn and Band" and the Mercer Wind Ensemble will perform pieces by Peter Mennin, Leonard Bernstein, and Katahj Copley. This event is free and open to the public.

The Townsend Symposia on Music, Philosophy, and the Arts is an opportunity to present new ideas to students, artists, and arts administrators in the community. Mozart "Symphonie Concertante" and Brahms "Sextet No. 1 in B-flat major, Op. 18" will be performed by Amy Schwartz Moretti (violin), Matthew Lipman (viola), Brannon Cho (cello), and Sydney Lee (cello).

Amy Schwartz Moretti, Director of the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University and a member of the acclaimed Ehnes Quartet, is the featured soloist on the program, performing composer and Townsend School of Music faculty Christopher Schmitz’s "Violin Concerto and Symphony No. 1". The evening closes with Brahms’ masterpiece, "Symphony No. 2 in D Major".
