Mercer University Opera is proud to present Handel’s Rinaldo, a masterpiece widely regarded as the best of his 40 Italian operas, a tale of love amid war waged against the powers of evil. The emotions of the innocent betrothed couple, the virtuous warrior, the villainous sorceress – all are brought to life vividly in aching melodies of longing, vengeful fusillades of running notes, or sparkling duets, emerging organically from the drama. Spectacle and magic abound, and it is Handel’s glorious music that pierces the heart with grief, terror, and joy. General admission $20, Student ID $10. BUY TICKETS
