Inspired by the 1980 movie, the musical 9 to 5 follows the story of three female co-workers who, pushed to the boiling point by their lying, egotistical boss, concoct an outrageous plan to even the corporate playing field in this hilarious musical adaptation! With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, this is a splendid, toe-tapping Valentine’s date night story of friendship, revenge, empowerment, and even a touch of love!

Nathan Gay, accompanied by Kyung-A Yoo, will be performing a variety of works for euphonium and tuba. Come out and enjoy the sonorous sounds of both the euphonium and tuba!

Guest Artist and Mercer alum Matt Miller returns to front the ensemble in an evening of beautiful music swinging from cool jazz to sophisticated bebop.

Friday night will be the first of two concerts in the Bands at the Grand Honor Band Festival hosted by Mercer University Bands. The Mercer University Wind Ensemble will perform an exciting program on the lighter side of classical. Dr. Nathan Gay will be performing Salt of the Earth Concerto for Tuba and Wind Ensemble by Andy Scott.

The Saturday afternoon concert concludes the Third Annual Bands at the Grand Honor Band Festival. Top middle and high school students auditioned and traveled from around the state to participate in this 3-day festival full of masterclasses, performances, and community building.

Curated by Artistic Director Amy Schwartz Moretti, the Fabian Concert Series continues to present chamber music at its highest level in the intimate setting of Fickling Hall.
