Mercer will formally re-open the historic Capricorn Sounds Studios in Macon as Mercer Music at Capricorn on Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. The dedication ceremony, which is free and open to the public, will take place on an outdoor stage behind the studios and will feature music by Mercer’s Robert McDuffie Center for Strings and the Otis Redding Foundation’s DREAM Team, as well as remarks from Mercer President William D. Dr. Kruse specializes in the political, social, and urban/suburban history of twentieth-century America, with a particular interest in conflicts over race, rights and religion and the making of modern conservatism.
